Introductory Avalanche Course

Are you using the mountains during the winter and want to learn more about avalanches? In this course we cover basic knowledge such as recognising avalnche terrain, using safety equipment and planning safe trips.

Description

This course is meant for those who wish to learn more about safe ski mountaineering. Our focus is recognizing avalanche terrain, giving thorough introduction in the use of avalanche safety gear (beacon, spade and search rod), and how to plan and complete a safe trip.

We will use the days outside in the mountains where we will experience diverse terrain. We will practice and discuss different routes, look at snow conditions, and learn to use the safety gear.

The goal is making you able to recognise avalanche terrain, and make safe choices in the mountains.
