Guest Information – Using a Guide

A mountain guide prioritizes safety above all else. However, there is a collaborative effort between the guest and the guide that leads them to the summit. The guide is responsible for informing the guest about potential hazards, being transparent about decisions made, and providing guidance to the best of their ability.

Guest Responsibilities:

• It is the guest’s responsibility to inform the guide of any relevant information, such as fear of heights, allergies, heart conditions, etc. If the guest feels uncomfortable at any point, it is their duty to communicate this to the guide so that appropriate measures can be taken.

Guide’s Authority:

• The guide has the final say in all decisions made during the excursion. In other words, the guide may decide to cancel the trip if conditions or the guest’s condition do not align with the objectives. This decision will be communicated as openly and clearly as possible to the guest, and an alternative trip or a new plan will be proposed.

By participating in events organized by I Fri Natur, you simultaneously confirm that you accept the terms and conditions for the event. This applies to your part, in addition to what has been mentioned above:

• Having your own travel insurance that covers climbing and skiing.
• Always respecting and adhering to the instructions provided by the guide or instructor.
• Showing respect and courtesy to nature and fellow participants.

I Fri Natur commit to:

• Providing qualified instructors and guides with the competence and skills to conduct the desired activity.
• Ensuring that all our instructors and guides have liability insurance through NORTIND or equivalent.
• In case of safety breaches or reckless behavior, I Fri Natur will investigate the guide or instructor’s conduct.

Booking Terms for Courses and tours:

• When the course is booked, we confirm your place.
• The course must be fully paid at least 7 days before the course or tour starts.
• The booking fee will not be refunded.

General Booking Terms:

• Cancellations made 7 days before the tour will result in a refund of the full amount.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days before the agreed-upon tour/course start time will not be refunded unless the cancellation is initiated by I Fri Natur.
• Cancellations must be made in writing via email.

Weather Conditions:

• If a tour must be interrupted due to weather conditions, there will be no refund.
• If weather or conditions render the planned tour unsuitable, the guide will propose a better alternative, which may include a different guided tour or course.
• In case of extreme weather conditions that make any outdoor activity impossible, the guide will cancel, and a full refund will be provided.
