Vegard With Stennes
Owner and guide of I Fri Natur. He is a resident of Henningsvær with his family, Line, Teodor and Tomine.
Vegard’s love for skiing and climbing is immense. He spends most of his time in the great outdoors, seeking those unforgettable moments with his guests, family and friends.
As an IFMGA Mountain Guide, Vegard is highly skilled and knowledgeable. He’s also educated as an Arctic Nature Guide in Svalbard and serves as an observer for the Norwegian Snow Avalanche forecast.
Whether you’re a returning guest or new to his services, Vegard is eager to lead you on exciting adventures in the mountains.

We are proud to have Niels Pelabon as part of the I Fri Natur team! Niels is a true mountain enthusiast with extensive experience in the region, and his passion for skiing and climbing is contagious to everyone he guides or teaches.
Niels is not only a skilled mountaineer but also a dedicated educator who is truly passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. He speaks French, Norwegian, and English, so no matter where you come from, you’ll be able to communicate effectively with him.
Niels lives in Henningsvær and is fully employed by I Fri Natur. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and passion in creating memorable experiences for our guests

Our guides are a mix of IFMGA-certified professionals, those under training to become IFMGA-certified, and NF instructors with extensive knowledge of the Lofoten mountains.
This group of guides brings a wealth of expertise to each and every excursion, ensuring that you have the best possible experience while exploring the mountains with us.

Safety
We take your safety seriously. Through well established HMS and internal control routines we minimize risk and stay aware of the different dangers around us. For both your’s and our own sakes.
We only use guides connected to Nortind – Norwegian Mountain Guides and instructors through Norsk Fjellsportforum.
We have hand picked guides with a lot of experience in our local area.
When using a guide
Safety is always a focus for the guide. Through transparent guiding the guide will point out dangers and risks. That means that you as a guest will get a picture of the situations we will face.
For you as our guest it is important to inform us about medical conditions, medication, fear of heights etc. before the beginning of the trip. If you feel uncomfortable it is your obligation to inform the guide so that we can find a good solution to the situation.
When on a trip the guide always has the last say in all decisions. Every decision will be made as transparently as possible so that all participants have a best possible understanding of the situation.
It is expected that everyone who participate follow information that is given, participate with caution and contribute to thrash free travelling in the mountains.
When booking
Participation in our trips is done in your own responsibility. climbing and ski mountaineering is considered risk activities.
I Fri Natur and our guides do not carry any economical responsibility for accidents during our activities and events.
Every participant must carry their own travel insurance.
When you book a trip, you confirm that you have read and accepted these rules.
How to get here
Boat from Bodø
There are several daily routes with speed boat to Svolvær, which is only 5 minutes away. We can arrange for transport from the dock if desirable. The boat trip is approx. 3 hours 20 minutes.
Plane to Narvik/Evenes
Norwegian and Sas daily services Narvik/Evenes from different destinations in Norway. The easiest is to rent a car from there.
Car
Do you wish to combine our trips with a road trip? With car and ferry it is approx. 5-6 hours to Henningsvær from Bodø. From Tromsø it is approx. 6,5 hours.
