Presten is a legendary sea cliff rising dramatically from the ocean near Henningsvær. It is a world-renowned climbing destination, attracting climbers from around the globe. Every pitch is worth writing home about, and we would dare say this is world-class climbing.
The route consists of 11 pitches, graded 6. Most of the climbing is around grade 5, with a few harder sections. This makes it a demanding climb that requires previous climbing experience.
This tour is suitable for experienced climbers. It is a long climbing route that also requires good physical fitness. We recommend spending a day climbing shorter routes with us before taking on Presten.
Facts about Presten
Just outside Henningsvær rises the majestic sea cliff Presten. For many years, it served as an important navigational landmark for fishermen, together with Vågakallen. The cliff consists of solid granite.
The first ascent was made by Arild Meyer and Brynjulf. The West Pillar offers world-class crack climbing. On the descent, we also pass the popular summit of Festvågtind and the Torsketunga rock formation. A long day of excellent rock climbing and unforgettable natural scenery sums up this adventure perfectly.
