Trad Climbing Course – 5 Days of Solid Introduction to Climbing with Natural Protection

The course takes place in the mountains and on the cliffs around Henningsvær/Kalle in Lofoten.

Course Content

You will learn climbing techniques, belaying techniques, natural protection, partner rescue, how to build anchors and rope-team communication – all in a safe environment with experienced instructors. You will receive close guidance and support throughout the course.

Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to give you the knowledge and skills needed to climb multi-pitch routes independently. You will learn about climbing techniques, safety, rope-team communication, route and equipment selection, and much more. By completing the course, you will feel more confident in your climbing and be better prepared for your next climbing adventure. Accommodation Tips

If you would like comfortable accommodation during the course, we recommend staying at Trevarefabrikken in Henningsvær.

If you prefer a simpler option, we recommend camping at Kalle, where the course takes place. Kalle beach is a beautiful place to camp, with toilets and showers available in a nearby service building.

I had no climbing experience at all, but Vegard was patient enough for us to take our time in the climb, ensured to tell us all about the safety and gave tips on how to climb the tough parts!
