Join us for ski touring in one of the world’s most beautiful archipelagos. Lofoten offers fantastic ski terrain, with alpine peaks that give you a true mountain experience. The proximity to the open ocean makes the adventure even more spectacular.

At I Fri Natur, our certified and professional ski and mountain guides are dedicated to giving you the best possible ski touring experience in Lofoten. We guide both classic routes and lesser-known adventures across the islands. Our guides prioritise safety and create a positive learning environment focused on flow and confidence. We aim to find the best and safest snow conditions available and want you to leave with new knowledge about snow, avalanche conditions, skiing technique and the mountains of Lofoten.

We adapt each tour to the weather, conditions, experience and wishes of the group. Lofoten offers an enormous variety of ski terrain, giving us plenty of options to choose from. Our guides do everything they can to find the safest and best available snow.

A Typical Ski Day in Lofoten

We generally meet at Trevarefabrikken, but the meeting point can be arranged elsewhere if needed. We start with a trip briefing and planning session, assessing the day’s weather, avalanche conditions and the group’s fitness and energy levels. We then head out to our chosen destination.

A ski tour in Lofoten starts at sea level, and after around 250 metres of ascent, we reach the high mountains. The landscape feels both alpine and spectacular. Where possible, we aim for circular routes with several descents.

Throughout the day, we are open, supportive and focused on helping you develop your skills. Safety, flow and confidence are at the heart of everything we do, creating a consistent focus throughout the day or week with us.

The day normally finishes around 3:30 pm.

Multiple Days

Many guests choose to book several days of ski guiding. Together with our partners, we can tailor ski weekends and full ski weeks to your needs. Packages can include accommodation, meals and skiing.

Different rates apply when booking multiple days. Get in touch and we will create your dream ski touring experience in Lofoten.

I had no climbing experience at all, but Vegard was patient enough for us to take our time in the climb, ensured to tell us all about the safety and gave tips on how to climb the tough parts!
