Do you want to become a climbing instructor? Inspire others to enjoy mountain climbing and promote safe practices in the mountains? Are you good with people and eager to help run climbing courses? Then the NF High Mountain Climbing Guide course is for you.
This course requires you to have completed and passed the NF Method Course and completed the required practical training.
The course takes place in the mountains of Lofoten.
Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to give you a solid understanding of the role of a climbing instructor. Topics covered during the instructor course include:
How to plan and run a climbing or partner rescue course.
Safety / Personal safety / Staying within your abilities
Participants are required to demonstrate the necessary understanding, knowledge and skills in belaying, climbing technique and instruction. You must also demonstrate active participation and progress towards being able to work as a climbing instructor.
This is the final stage of the instructor pathway. The course ends with a pass or fail assessment.
