5-Day Alpine Climbing Course
On this course, you will gain experience of climbing in alpine environments. Winter climbing on snow, ice and rock requires knowledge of crampons, ice axes, snow anchors, ice screws and avalanche safety.
The course focuses on effective methods for winter climbing, climbing within your ability, and combining climbing on ice, rock and snow.
The course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about alpine climbing, ice climbing, protection in snow and ice, and avalanches.
The course is based around Henningsvær and Kalle. We start with a joint introduction at Trevarefabrikken before heading out into the mountains.
The course runs over 5 days and aims to provide a solid introduction to winter climbing in steep terrain. You should have previous experience climbing with natural protection to get the most out of the course.
Instructors are IFMGA Mountain Guides or NF High Mountain Climbing Instructors.
