6 days of skiing and glacier training in the French Alps. The ultimate course for anyone who wants to learn about challenging alpine environments, covering glaciers, snow and high mountains.
Alpine Course Chamonix – We are based in Chamonix and spend our days in the surrounding mountains. This course focuses on skiing and glacier travel, including the use of crampons and ice axes. We practise terrain assessment, partner rescue on glaciers, avalanche awareness and rope techniques.
Programme:
- Day 0 (3 January 2027): Arrival in Chamonix and evening gathering at the house.
- Day 1: Getting to know each other – ski tour in a suitable area.
- Day 2: Movement techniques in steep terrain and on glaciers.
- Day 3: Up high – ski touring around Aiguille du Midi.
- Day 4: Freeride day at a suitable location.
- Day 5: Up high – focus on glacier travel and rope-team techniques.
- Day 6: Final day – plan and complete your own tour with guidance from the instructors.
- Day 7 (10 January 2027): Departure.
The instructors on the course are qualified IFMGA Mountain Guides with extensive local knowledge of the area where the course takes place.
During the course, we stay together in shared accommodation. Transport in Chamonix is included in the price.

- Lift pass and travel are not included. Fly to Geneva and take a shuttle from there to Chamonix.
