This course is the first step in the training to become a Climbing Instructor 1 for both lowland and high mountain climbing. The course provides a thorough introduction to methods for multi-pitch climbing on natural protection and partner rescue.
This course marks the first stage of our Climbing Instructor 1 training, covering both lowland and high mountain climbing. Before starting the course, you must already have a solid understanding of standard methods for climbing on natural protection and partner rescue. This allows us to focus the course on reviewing and discussing methods that are optimized for an instructional setting.
To participate in this course, you must meet the admission requirements established for sport climbing instructor courses (9.1.2), in addition to the following requirements:

- At least 2 years of experience leading multi-pitch routes in a variety of climbing areas.
- Demonstrated ability to lead grade 5 routes safely and systematically using natural protection, including at unfamiliar climbing areas.
- Proficiency in standard partner rescue techniques.
- Please note the following clarification:
The term “2 years of experience” refers to two years of active participation, during which you have completed at least 50 pitches per year using natural protection. You should also have substantial experience with multi-pitch routes. Your partner rescue skills must be documented through at least two days of partner rescue training or self-directed practice on natural protection within the past year, or equivalent experience.

Applications for the NF Climbing Method Course are submitted through brattkompetanse.no. You will need to submit an application form and a standardized climbing logbook. To have your application approved, it is important that you meet all experience requirements and have the necessary documentation in place.
